SHORT FILM CONTEST WINNER IS ANNOUNCED
June 1, 2010
We want to thank everyone for participating in the first ever X-Factor Filmmakers Short Film
Contest. The voting has ended and the film "Acceptance" by Kate Zabinsky received the most
votes on Vimeo, making it the winning film of the contest. She will be receiving $1,000 and Avid
Media Composer editing software.
Five of the films from the contest still need to be chosen to join the films on The Garage. We are
speaking with them now and we will announce the chosen films very soon.
We really appreciate all of you who helped kick off our first short film contest and wish you the
best of luck. Please keep in touch as we would love to hear about your future film projects.
You can also follow me, Lauren Tracy, on my blog to see what I'm working on in Los Angeles.
We plan on hosting more contests in the future but we need help to do it. We need funds for
contest prizes, time spent by volunteers doing marketing, setting up the contest and more.
Please go to the crowd funding site called IndieGoGo to see how you can help us raise money
for future contests. Those who donate get perks too! Once we raise enough money we can make
the entry fees voluntary.
Keep making movies!
